There are 3 different port numbers needed to use for your network license. It is recommended that you define these port numbers within the following default ranges. Below is a brief listing of the recommended ranges, followed by further details for each port.
- License server management web interface port = 8090
- License server manager port: default=27000-27009 Range
- Vendor daemon port: default=50000-60000 Range
License Server Management Web Interface
The default port number used to access the license server management web interface is 8090. You are welcome to change this from the default but to date, we have never seen an issue with using the default and this is what we recommend (8090).
License Server Manager
The License server manager port number will show up when you log into the Administration tab of the web interface. In the screen capture below, you see I'm using 27000. The range of 27000-27009 is typical for this application and we have not seen any reason to choose something different from the default.
The Vendor Daemon
The vendor daemon port is the port used by client computers to access the network license so GoldSim can run on client machines. The recommendation is to use a number between 50000-60000 of your choosing. Alternatively, you can choose the default, which will select a number for you and it will only change each time you restart the vendor daemon. The screen capture below shows an example of this number being specified.
For more information about the vendor daemon port, please see: Find the Vendor Daemon Port Number for a Network License
Please can you walk through each of your port numbers and see if these ports are within the recommended ranges/values. Also, check to see if these are allowed by the server administrator to pass/receive data.
