This webinar will introduce you to the GoldSim implementation of "WGEN", which is a stochastic weather generator originally developed in the 1980s in Fortran at the US Department of Agriculture Agricultural Research Service (Richardson and Wright 1984). It uses monthly and annual statistics to generate daily time series of precipitation, minimum temperature, maximum temperature, and solar radiation.
In addition to demonstrating and explaining the model, I will summarize the latest important updates to the model. These updates are the result of more people using this model around the world in both hemispheres and in a wider variety of conditions.
