This webinar introduces TempGen, a GoldSim implementation of a daily temperature simulator. TempGen is designed to simulate stochastic, long-term minimum and maximum daily temperatures for any location, building upon the foundational work of the WGEN model. The model consists of two main components: the seasonal trend, which captures the cyclic nature of temperature changes throughout the year, and the daily randomness, which incorporates daily fluctuations and variability.
TempGen provides a modular approach to simulating weather, allowing you to choose whether to simulate precipitation, temperature, or both. This flexibility facilitates realistic simulations of environmental processes affected by temperature, such as evapotranspiration rates.
