Tracking the State of a System Using Status and Milestone Elements (July 2020)

In this webinar, we will explore different ways to use the Status and Milestone elements that might be applicable to your current modeling work. Status elements allow you to monitor the status of something that is changed instantaneously (i.e., is triggered) by events. This can be very useful for simulating volume or level control in flow systems. Milestone elements record the time that an event occurs.

The Milestone element has three outputs: the Date (calendar time) that the triggering event occurred, the Etime (elapsed time) in the simulation that the triggering event occurred, and a Completion Status (which is False prior to the element being triggered, and True afterward). This might be useful when you want simulate a pump that starts operating after the completion of building the system.
