Reason 7131; Server activation is not allowed to activate entitlement line item

Problem:

When you try to activate your license, you see this error message:

Reason 7131; Server activation is not allowed to activate entitlement line item. [xxxx-...] Make sure the license model is a server license model.

It means that you are attempting to activate a standalone license using GoldSim License Server Activation Utility (GLSActUtil). This is the way you would Activate a Network License.

Solution:

If you want to activate a network license, do this: Activate a Network License.

If you want to activate a standalone license, do this: Activate a Standalone License.
