Pipe Example 1: Advection, Dispersion and Retardation

The Pipe element is a complex, Contaminant Transport module element. It can be used to simulate the transport processes of advection, dispersion, and retardation.

The Pipe can also be used for more advanced processes as discussed in the User's Manual. In this model, 1 mg/day of each species is injected into the column. The outflow rate from the pipe which is the inflow to the sink provides the advection rate across the pipe.

To Open the Model File:

1. Start GoldSim
2. Click on the File and select Open Example...
3. Browse to General Examples --> Contaminant Transport Examples
4. Select the file called Pipe1.gsm
