The Lookup Table element "Properties" dialog allows the specification of interpolation and extrapolation settings for the lookup table. By default, the interpolation carried out by GoldSim to determine the value of the Dependent Variable for a given value of the Independent Variable (i.e., the argument) is done linearly with respect to both variables. "Next lower" and "Exact only" interpolation settings are also available.
The handling of extrapolation, or how the table handles references that are outside the bounds of the table, can also be specified in the "Properties" dialog. The default setting is "Fatal Error"; if a point outside the bounds of the table is referenced, GoldSim will display a Fatal Error message when you try to run the simulation. "Do not extrapolate" and "Extrapolate" settings are also available.
To Open the Model File:
- Start GoldSim
- Click on the File and select Open Example...
- Browse to General Examples --> LookupTable
- Select the file called TableInterpolation.gsm
