This webinar was inspired by a recent request from one of our GoldSim users. It will introduce basic control logic for operating a gate that controls outflows from a pond or reservoir. During the course of the presentation, I will show more involved and complex ways to simulate outflow controls. The first method I will demonstrate simply turns the flow on and off using feedback from measured water level. Later, I will show how this can be expanded to restricting the flow with partially open valves and also delaying the response to feedback changes by simulating the communication and reaction time of the operators controlling the real system. Finally, I will show how GoldSim's Reliability Module can be used to further delay operating response due to potential mechanical and communication failures.
