The purpose of this model is to estimate discharge through a submerged pipe using the Bernoulli energy equation. A flow solver is used to calculate the flow rate that results in the total head losses including minor losses, friction losses through the length of pipe and the velocity head at the discharge point.
A script element is used to estimate the the flow rate using a root zero solver. The reason for this is because of the complexity of the equation for flow rate which is needed in order to calculate the head losses as well as the velocity head at the discharge point.
If you choose the Darcy-Weisbach option, then the following calculations are performed in a separate script element:

Version notes:
I modified the model to more accurately represent head losses and compare results to that of an EPANET model.
Version update:
Added Darcy-Weisbach method option with validation against EPANET results.
