The purpose of this webinar is to demonstrate a dynamic simulation of multiple gates used for controlling flood discharge from a hypothetical dam. The model uses custom decision logic to control each of the gates independently, based on model variables that are changing during the simulation. A priority scheme is used to determine which of the gates opens. Once the gate is open, hydraulic calculations are used to estimate the flow through the gate. This process is repeated on each time step.
This demonstration is not limited to those interested in simulating dams and reservoirs. It is also useful in a more general sense for users that are considering feedback logic for multiple decision points based on state variables of the model.
