Presented by: Aaron Bandler, Neptune and Company
This webinar provides an example of how to model transient unsaturated flow and transport in a simple soil column using GoldSim. The main tools employed are the WGEN (weather generator) model, the GSPy library for linking Goldsim to custom python scripts, and HYDRUS-1D, a finite element flow and transport modeling code. Stochastic soil properties along with time series of precipitation and potential evapotranspiration are sent to HYDRUS via the GSPy dll. A HYDRUS model representing the same soil column is updated with inputs from GSPy, and run from a python script. The python script sends flow rates and water content values for a given time period back to GoldSim, where they are used to parameterize a transport column with aquifer elements representing soil layers.
This webinar will introduce you to the model and demonstrate it using a simple application.
