"Extended Database" Microsoft Access Database Format

A GoldSim model can obtain information/values from a Microsoft Access database. There are 3 pre-defined table formats that GoldSim recognizes in an Access database. The "Extended Database" table format is used in this example model.

An example database, named ExtendedDatabase.accdb, which has the "Extended Database" table format is distributed with this example model. Data elements, Lookup Table elements, and Stochastic elements can obtain values/information from the "Extended Database" format as shown here.

Before using this example, you will need to set up a data source via ODBC. Follow these instructions to do so: Setup ODBC Connection to Microsoft Access Database File

To Open the Model File:

1. Start GoldSim
2. Click on the File and select Open Example...
3. Browse to General Examples --> Database
4. Select the file called ExtendedDatabase.gsm
