"Simple Database" Microsoft Access Database Format

A GoldSim model can obtain information/values from a Microsoft Access database. There are 3 pre-defined table formats that GoldSim recognizes in an Access database. The "Simple Database" table format is used in this example model.

An example database, named SimpleDatabase.accdb, which has the "Simple Database" table format is distributed with this example model. Data elements and Stochastic elements can obtain values/information from the "Simple Database" format as shown here.

In order to use this file, you will need to define the data source which it references. The database file, SimpleDatabse.accdb, is provided in the General Examples/Database folder of your GoldSim directory. Defining data sources is discussed in "Adding Data Sources to Your Computer" in Chapter 10 of the GoldSim User's Guide.

To Open the Model File:

1. Start GoldSim
2. Click on the File and select Open Example...
3. Browse to General Examples --> Database
4. Select the file called SimpleDatabase.gsm
