A Previous Value element provides/holds the previous value for another element in the model. The Previous Value element outputs values of its reference function (i.e. the linked element) from the previous update of the model.
Usually, a model is only updated every timestep, so that the previous update refers to the previous “scheduled” timestep specified in the Time Phase settings of the Simulation Settings dialog. A Previous Value element also has a secondary output called RateOfChange.
A simple Previous Value element is provided directly below and more advanced illustrations are provided in the submodels at the bottom.
To Open the Model File:
- Start GoldSim
- Click on the File and select Open Example...
- Browse to General Examples and select the file called PreviousValue.gsm
