Typically, the available resource is defined as a flow of material (e.g., water), but it could also be a resource like parts or currency, or a discrete transaction. In this model example, the Allocator element is used in different ways that demonstrate its flexibility. If you want to split an incoming signal between a number of outputs based on specified fractions or amounts instead of specified priorities, you should use a Splitter.
