This model describes a manufacturing process that includes the following stages: (1) casting, (2) pre-finish, (3) ‘solution oven’ heat treatment, (4) ‘aging oven’ heat treatment and (5) a finishing process. Some stages in this manufacturing process could be captured using Reservoirs (or Integrators) with continuous rates. However, the most complex portions of the model are the two heat treatment ovens which are more suitably modeled with discrete processes. Therefore, all stages of the manufacturing process are modeled discretely. This model makes heavy use of Timed and Triggered Event Elements, Event Delay Elements, Discrete Change Elements and Discrete Change Delay Elements.
