This model demonstrates the use of a Status element to control discharges from a reservoir. The discharge from this reservoir is controlled using a Status element that turns the discharge on or off depending on the current state of the reservoir. A True state in the Status element indicates the discharge request is ON while a False status indicates OFF. The discharge request turns on when the reservoir volume exceeds 120,000 AF but does not turn off until the reservoir volume drops below 100,000 AF. This delay in the switch is made possible by the two trigger definitions of the Status element. As a result, the Status element creates a "deadband" between the reservoir volume of 100,000 AF and 120,000 AF for which the reservoir can operate around.
