Simple Mine Water Balance

Rick Kossik -

This is a simple, but fairly realistic water balance model for a mine. It contains all of the key mine components, including a process water pond and tailings storage facility, and illustrates how such components can be modeled in GoldSim. The purpose of this particular model is to determine how much water this specific mine would need to purchase from an external source.

The representation of precipitation, evaporation, and site runoff is fairly simple and should be modified to represent a particular site if this model is re-used. The geometric characterization of the reservoirs/dams is also simplified and should be modified to represent a particular site if this model is re-used.
