Note that any license server configuration changes (such as a new password or vendor daemon port number) are written to the server.xml file located here: C:\ProgramData\FLEXlm\lmadmin\conf.

If you see an error message saying that there was a "problem saving license server configuration", this could indicate that the permissions associated with the running instance of FlexNet Publisher License Server (FNPLS, or 'lmadmin') are inadequate to allow 'write' access to the server.xml file or that the Windows Firewall is blocking access to the file.

If the lmadmin.exe process was launched using a Windows service (named 'lmadmin', by default), go ahead and stop the Windows service and launch a command prompt ('cmd') with administrator privileges. Change the directory ('CD') to the lmadmin installation folder: "C:\Program Files (x86)\FlexNet Publisher License Server Manager". Then, type the following to run lmadmin.exe:

    lmadmin.exe -foreground -config "C:\ProgramData\Flexlm\lmadmin\conf\server.xml"

At this point, you might see a message dialog saying "Windows Defender Firewall has blocked some features of this application". Clicking 'Allow access' should allow write access to the server.xml file and thus allow administrative actions such as changing the password or vendor daemon port number.

After carrying out the instructions above and making desired changes, don't forget to terminate the lmadmin.exe process and restart lmadmin.exe via the lmadmin Window service.

If problems persist, report any issues to GoldSim Technology Group.
