    Tony,

Thank you for asking this question in our User Forum! To answer your question, the Optimization functionality is meant for data inputs that are not connected to the dashboard. Values you enter in the dashboard will overwrite the value previously determined during the optimization. If you plan to use Optimization, you will need to disconnect any optimization variables from the dashboard first.

Thank you for informing us of this bug that causes the software to close unexpectedly. Might you be able to send me the model that I can use to reproduce this on my end? So far, I have not been able to get this to happen using your description. If you can send it, please create a new support ticket at support.goldsim.com and I will get you an upload link so you can share it with me. Thank you so much for your patience!

    Tony,

I'm following up to let you know that we might need to make a change to GoldSim that either prevents you from adding dashboard-controlled data to dashboard input controls or else provide a way for the optimization value to overwrite what is currently found in the dashboard control when you choose to copy the value after an optimization run.

Again, we thank you for bringing this to our attention. We will look into a change for this and get back with you later when we decide how to address it. In the meantime, please avoid using dashboard controlled data for optimization variables if you can. Be aware that the value shown in the dashboard has nothing to do with optimization and will always overwrite the value.
