Reading table with dates and text to query inside goldsim

Imagine I have a set of preventive maintenance dates for a set of elements in the model. These elements can be of different types all related to a specific RL element. Can I import a table mixing dates and text (in specific columns) and use the text to query a definition inside an element?
Or the only way is to use the dashboard data pick functionality to hard-code which elements would be associated with a specific date in a preventive maintenance event?

  Alvaro,

  Unfortunately, GoldSim cannot work with text strings as input but would it be possible (and reasonably simple) to index your text strings with numbers? If you could assign a number to indicate a certain type of functionality you want to perform inside the model, would that work?

  Can you give an example of the type of query you are trying to do?
