Investment Strategy Model

This model investigates the effects of different investment strategies for a single stock. Data elements in the main level of the model allow you to control the number of shares or share equivalents held in each of the different types of positions (Long, Short, Put or Call).

A History Generator element is used to model the change in the underlying stock price, which is used by Containers set up for each investment type to calculate the current holding value, and if the position is closed out, profits. These are summed in the Current_Value (profits plus the value of remaining positions) and Profits (from closed positions) elements in the main level of the model.

To Open the Model File:

1. Start GoldSim
2. Click on the File and select Open Example...
3. Browse to General Examples --> Financial Examples
4. Select the file called Positions.gsm
