Can you provide more information as to who you are, what organization you are affiliated with, and what kind of license you have?

Saddam, we are unable to provide this level of technical support for free academic licenses.  Have you taken the online course yet?  Perhaps that will answer your questions.

These kinds of issues are discussed in detail in the online course: https://goldsimcourses.appspot.com/basic_goldsim/course

    S.Y.,

We have developed a simple hydropower optimization model. Keep in mind, this type of model is site specific so while we don't have a 1-size fits all type of solution for you, I think this example might help you:

    https://support.goldsim.com/hc/en-us/articles/115012825368-Hydroelectric-Power-Revenue-Optimization

The idea is to run the model using our optimization routine to see how to change inputs in order to maximize power generation.

    S.Y.,

I suggest that you use a submodel inside the main model. Have the main model run on a monthly basic time step. At the beginning of each month in the main model, trigger the submodel to run, which simulates only the current month. Configure the submodel to run as an optimization. This means the optimization is repeated each month. At the end of each month, the submodel outputs the optimized flow values you are looking for.

Here is an example that uses a submodel to run optimization repeatedly: https://support.goldsim.com/hc/en-us/articles/360047679353-Dynamic-Optimization

Let me know if that helps. Unfortunately, we can't spend a lot of time constructing and designing this model for you but I'm hopeful that these types of examples will help you along the way.

What elements in your model are the optimization variables, and point to the element in the model that is your objective function (that you are trying to maximize or minimize) each month?

    Hello all,

I am new to goldsim, I am wondering whether we have an optimization example for multiple objectives (e.g., maximum irrigation water and hydropower).

    Thanks

    Lijuan,

Good question! Here is an example that uses 2 outputs in the optimization objective function. The 2 outputs in this case are construction cost and peak discharge from a stormwater detention pond. I normalized the outputs so I could add them up to create a single objective. This is the approach I recommend for you.
