In some cases, a probabilistic model represents a system that operates for many years, with carryover of values from one year to the next. If you want to run your model for a short duration yet over many realizations, you can carryover final values and bring them back into GoldSim as initial values on each successive realization. This model exports the final reservoir volume at the end of a simulation and stores the value in Excel. At the beginning of all subsequent realizations, Discrete Change elements are used to wipe out the starting volume and immediately replace it with the value previously stored in Excel. The exchange events occur on the first time step of each realization.
Note that you use this approach with Integrators, Reservoirs, and Pool elements. You can also download a DLL version of this model, which interfaces with a Win32 DLL instead of Excel for faster execution.
