This webinar was presented by Rick Kossik in March 2016. Below is a brief summary and video recording of the presentation. You can also download the example models and Power Point presentation used for the webinar (see link below).
GoldSim provides a wide variety of tools for specifying the timestep in a model. Most timesteps are “scheduled”, in that it is known when they will occur before the simulation begins. Scheduled timesteps can be defined in a number of ways, and do not need to have a uniform length. For example, you can specify timesteps that are based on a calendar month, and you can “telescope” in and out, with the timestep varying according to some specified schedule.
GoldSim also supports what are referred to as “unscheduled” timesteps, which are inserted “on the fly” during a simulation in order to increase the accuracy of the model. For example, timesteps can be inserted when certain events occurs, or the timestep can be dynamically changed based on the state of the model. Some parts of the model can even have a different (smaller) timestep than the rest of the model.
This webinar discusses all of the powerful timestepping options in GoldSim such as Reporting Periods.
